Druten – On Sunday, 15 March, it was announced that all schools and childcare facilities would have to close along with restaurants, bars, gyms and sports clubs. Since then, ICA staff with school-age children have been working from home. Our logistics department was thoroughly briefed to minimise the risk of contamination.
ICA fully complies with the measures set by the RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment). It has become clear that the coronavirus is far more serious than a regular flu. Distancing by 1,5 metres is essential and is being strictly enforced within ICA. This means everyone in the office is seated further apart and staff in the logistics department take their breaks in small groups. Management frequently communicate on the most recent developments and advise on appropriate measures. Disinfectant products, gloves, soap and alcohol gels have been distributed throughout the building.
Many of ICA’s tiles are sourced from Spanish and Italian manufacturers. Our dealers can rest assured that the majority of tiles are still deliverable as our purchasing department anticipated possible shortages well before the COVID-19 outbreak. Our transport partner is also adhering to the government guidelines and is working to ensure that all orders can be processed and delivered.
According to experts, DIY work has seen a strong increase now that many people are compelled to stay at home. Little wonder then that ICA is breaking one turnover record after another.
