A proud Ruud Leemhuis makes a ‘transfer’ to ICA
Vriezenveen – It has taken some time to get used to in the Leemhuis household, but it will soon become a reality. Of course, it is no small thing. After a successful career of 17.5 years, you switch to work for a competitor and accept a new challenge. That is exactly what 37-year-old Ruud Leemhuis has done. On 1 January 2021, he will officially start as senior field sales representative with ceramic tile wholesaler ICA.
As part of his previous position as sales representative for Raab Karcher, Ruud was responsible for managing relationships with existing contacts and optimising prospects. He was pivotal in communicating with the back office when it came to quotations and outstanding orders. A former colleague admits that Ruud has a real knack for sales which will be greatly missed. She also commends his drive and great passion for tiles: “Ruud always had a slightly different perspective on the market or a problem, which made him my ideal sparring partner. It’s been a pleasure to work with him all these years!”
Ruud was introduced to his new colleagues in Druten during the last week of 2020, so all that remains for the proud father of three is to familiarise himself with the extensive product range of the tile wholesaler in Gelderland. Factories like Qua, Bien and Ege and top Spanish brands such as Navarti and Equipe as well as RAKO (Czech) are all part of ICA’s portfolio.
ICA owner and Amsterdam native Kees van den Hoek expressed his thoughts about the move by calling it “a beautiful transfer within the tile industry”. Sales manager Bram Boer is also excited by the addition of Ruud to the team.
